Prince Of Peace; Solace Amidst The Storm
For the past couple weeks, I’ve been waking up to a song called “Prince Of Peace”. For nearly a decade, I’ve absolutely loved the song but it wasn’t until today that one of my favourite songs hit heart my heart in such a sweet and different way.
The song that I’d set as my morning alarm was a song we also danced to in class today and hearing the lyrics not once, but twice, in one day felt like a gentle reminder of His presence; a reminder our God reigns peacefully and victoriously.
His protection of us is intentional, His love for us goes beyond measure. We find our refuge, our solace - our rest - in the Prince Of Peace.
Your love surrounds me, when my thoughts wage war
When night screams terror, there Your voice will roar
Come death or shadow, God, I know
Your light will meet me there.
Today, I heard the voice of Jesus roar through the songs I heard and through the choreography we danced. A reminder that my fears are not only settled and stilled but overcome and silenced by the loving yet powerful roar of His voice. I hear His roar in the laughter of others, I feel it through dancing and movement, and I see it in the world around me.
He is always there.
He hears our prayers.
In the midst of our darkest nights - in the midst of pain unexplained or sicknesses battled - whatever trial or struggle you may be walking through right now, know that the Prince Of Peace goes before you, goes behind you, and walks beside you.
God is here.
Hope like the sunlight piercing through the dark
The Prince of peace came and broke into my heart
The violent cross, the empty grave
And in Your light I found grace
Friend, I don’t know about you but during winters, my thoughts wage war more than usual. Something about the cold and the dark…it just makes it easier to forget I can find warmth, peace, and joy in His radiant beams of hope and life.
And there, in the midst of our constant forgetfulness, our helpless humanity, we find grace in the light of the Son Of Man. The cross is empty, the grave no longer holds Him - by His stripes, we are healed. In His light, we live free.
In Christ, there is hope.
In Christ, there is life.
In Christ, there is joy.
In Christ, there is peace.
Dear friend, let His voice roar over even the loudest sounds in your darkest nights. Let His gentle yet mighty roar inspire your rise and inspire your rest. Hear His roar of peace through the music you listen to, feel in the movements you make, see it in His creation and in those around you.
May everything, everywhere remind you that you are held safe in the arms of the Prince of Peace.
Always and always.
