Big Picture: Seeing Life Through Heaven’s Eyes

There’s a bit of uncertainty that comes from knowing we can’t see our lives from beginning to end but there’s also hope; hope in knowing the Author of our each and every day is has written our stories cover to cover.

Beginning to end.

But in the midst of trials and struggles, sometimes we get stuck on one page,

one one sentence,

one word.

We often lean in so closely to our circumstances that we sometimes forget our story is not over yet. Where we are now is only part of our story, part of our testimony; only one brushstroke - part of a bigger, beautiful painting.

We often see colours and textures that we think might ruin our big picture, we have smudges and smears. Thinking that those imperfections are bigger than the Artist’s masterpiece, we lose hope. Our brokenness, our hurting, our sickness, our illness - surely it would get in His way, no? Maybe ruin the big picture?

“God's not done with you,
Even with your broken heart and your wounds and your scars.
God's not done with you,
Even when you're lost and it's hard and you're falling apart.
God's not done with you;
It's not over, it's only begun…” - T. WELLS

Nothing could “ruin” the stories written for us by our Creator. Since the beginning of time, God has had a plan for the redemption of all mankind and He also has a unique and wonderful plan for you and for me.

We gotta look beyond our present circumstances; see the bigger picture. We might not be able to what exactly the bigger picture is but just knowing life goes beyond our current battles and struggles brings comfort and hope.

There’s a song I love from one of my favourite musicals, Prince of Egypt, called Through Heaven’s Eyes.

So how can you see what your life is worth
Or where your value lies?
You can never see through the eyes of man
You must look at your life
Look at your life through Heaven's eyes

Look at your life through Heaven’s eyes.
See life through the lens of the Life-Giver Himself.

I encourage you to seek comfort in the knowledge that God has plans for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 declares, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Trust in His timing and remain steadfast in faith, for Romans 15:13 offers a beautiful blessing: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

May these truths remind us to take a step back, look beyond what’s right in front of our eyes, see life through Heaven’s eyes; trust that there’s a fuller view.

See life, see it big picture.

Your story’s not over yet, friend. Step back and watch the beauty unfold.
